Maoi Chinn Tire races of a career-low mark in the 5.20 at Uttoxeter and looks good value at 9/1 to take advantage and land the spoils.

Jenny Candlish’s gelding has been out of form since winning on the flat at Nottingham last May and following up with a victory over fences at Cartmel.

However he has been given a break to freshen him up, and has been given a big chance by the handicapper who has dropped him 5lb since his last hurdles run to a mark of 115.

That gives him a huge chance at the eights, despite the fact that he has not scored over hurdles since springing a 200/1 surprise when landing a listed juvenile hurdle at Wetherby back in 2011.

He was rated 128 after that success and was far from disgraced when sent off at 100/1 and finishing fourth of 9 (beaten 38 lengths) by Zarkander in a Grade 1 at Aintree.

The 10-year-old also finished third at Haydock off that rating, and runner-up to Praxiteles at Stratford off 125 in 2011.

Another plus is that he has won after a break, as his success last May on the flat came after 266 days on the sidelines, and he acts on the going.

His yard are also now in far better form having been under a cloud, and he is simply too well-treated to ignore in what doesn’t look the strongest of contests.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Maoi Chinn Tire (9/1 Betfred, BetVictor, Paddy Power – BOG)
