Meribel Millie caught the eye last time out and is of major interest at 4/1 on handicap debut in the 3.50 at Sedgefield today.

The mare was a bumper winner when trained by Harry Fry, beating the now 127-rated Chase End Charlie, and has failed to trouble the judge in four starts over hurdles this season since joining Neil Mulholland.

However, she has looked a work in progress and put in an improved effort last month when keeping on nicely to finish a never nearer 22 length ninth of 17 to the highly regarded Dreamcatching over 2m at Wincanton.

It was an effort which suggested she would have more to offer when going down the handicap route and an opening mark of 102 looks exploitable on her bumper form if that proves to be the case.

The step up to 2m 4f also looks sure to suit and the booking of Tom Scudamore is a plus as he does wll when teaming up with the yard (near 20% strike rate in past 12 months).

Mulholland also has an overall strike rate of 36% at the venue and everything points to a huge run.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts win Meribel Millie (4/1 generally available – use BOG firms)
