Mount Cheiron makes plenty of appeal at 9/1

Mount Cheiron has posted some solid efforts at Wolverhampton and makes plenty of appeal at 9/1 in the 2.30 there today.

Richard Ford’s gelding caught the eye on his first start over course and distance last March when running on well to finish a never nearer fourth tp Toymaker off a mark of 53 after jockey Graham Lee dropped his reigns inside the final furlong.

He went on to score at Southwell off 52, and also ran a blinder  over course and distance five starts back when failing by just a short-head to overhaul the well-treated Atreus off a rating of 48.

Mount Cheiron is now able to race in this off the same rating, having returned to form last  time out at Kempton when third to Theydon Thunder.

The five-year-old lost ground when slowly away but made good hedway two from home to go second inside the last before weakening late on to be beaten 4 lengths.

It was a solid effort given how the race panned out, and he now meets the winner on 8lb better trems.

That was also Mount Cheiron’s second run following a break, and he should now be spot on to do hismelf justice.

Connections are also fitting him with visor for the first time, and with Callum Rodriquez in the saddle taking off 7lb with his claims Mount Cheiron looks weighted to run a huge race.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Mount Cheiron (9/1 bet365, BetVictor, William Hill – BOG)
