Moyes’ men too big to ignore at 19/10

Backing Man United at the moment comes with a wealth warning but at 19/10 they simply have to be the punt in their Champions League away tie against Shakhtar Donetsk tonight (7.45pm KO), Live on Sky Sports 4).

David Moyes’ side have ednured a poor start to the season, and their latest display when beaten 2-1 at home by West Brom was dire.

However it can be argued that their best display this season came in thier opening game in this competition when comprehensively beating Bayer Leverkusen 4-2 at Old Trafford and they face a side who are currently six points adrift of the leaders in the Ukrainian top-flight.

Moyes, who has looked tactically inept with some of his starting line-ups this season, will also surely field a full strength team for this – including Robin van Persie who for some reason started the game against West Brom on the bench.

The stats are also pretty decent as far as The Red Devils are concerned – despite this being the first competitive meeting between the two sides.

United are unbeaten against Ukrainian clubs in the Champions League (3 wins, 1 draw) and Shakhtar have won only 2 of their last 8 home games in this competition (3 draws, 3 defeats).

That makes United looks worth chancing at the 19/10 on offer with Betfred, Ladbrokes and Coral as under normal circumsdtances they would be far shorter and favourites for this rather than underdogs.

The in-form Wayne Rooney is the top English scorer in the Champions League (29 goals since 1992/93) and at a standout 15/2 with Hills makes plenty of each-way appeal in the first goalscorer market.
