Mr Chocolate Drop a tasty bet at 10/1

Mr Chocolate Drop has shaped better than his finishing position suggests in his last two runs and with Martin Harley back in the daddle makes plenty of appeal at 10/1 in the 6.30 at Kempton this evening.

Mandy Rowland’s 10-year-old snapped a long losing streak when taking advanatge of his falling mark to score by a beck over course and distance three starts back off a mark of 45.

He was then given far too much to do when finishing a never nearer 2 1/2 length sixth of 15 to Miami Gator off 48, again over course and distance, and now meets that rival on 9lb better terms.

The gelding then shaped better than his final finishing position suggests last time out over CD when being given a similar ride and finishing a 3 1/2 lengths fifth of 12 to Wishformore.

Those runs suggest that he is still in good form, and he remains well-treated off his current makr of 48 on his old form

Prior to winning here last month, his last victiry had been at Ayr in July 2012 where he scored off a mark of 55.

He went on to finish a decent fourth at Wolverhampton that year off a mark of 63, so is clearly on a workable mark at present.

It’s also interesting that connections are now replacing Adam Kirby, who has not ridden him to best effect on the last two occasions, with Martin Harley as he did the steering when Mr Chocolate Drop  was last successful.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts each-way Mr Chocolate Drop (10/1 BetVictor – BOG)
