Mr Win of major interest at 15/2

Mr Win makes his eagerly awaited handicap debut in the 5.40 at Goodwood today and is of major interest at 15/2 now stepped up in trip.

Chris Wall’s colt shaped with bags of promise in two runs last year, and particularly caught the eye on the second of those when finishing a staying on sixth of 12 to Magnus Maximus over 6f at Kempton.

The winner has won twice since, including a valuable sales race at Newmarket and is now rated 101, the runner-up Much Promise scored next time up and is rated 80, and the fourth home Pushkin Museum has scored twice and is rated 82.

That is strong form in the context of this class 5 contest and makes Mr Win look potentially very well-treated off an opening mark of just 65.

The selection also comes into the contest having shaped really well when keeping on to finish a never nearer 4 3/4 length third to Boy In The Bar over 6f at Pontefract on his recent return to action after 225 days on the sidelines, and should now be spot on to do himself justice.

Another plus is that he has Ashley Morgan in the saddle taking another 3lb off his back, and the extra furlong he now tackles today looks sure to suit judged on the way he has been finishing off his races.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 4pts each-way Mr Win (15/2 BetVictor – BOG)
