Mu’ajiza shaped well last time out and makes plenmty of each-way appeal at 16/1 in the 4.10 at York today now dropped back into handicap company.

Paul Midgley’s mare was in terrific form last summer when winning twice, and also posted a cracking effort when a close up third in a listed contest at Pontefract won by Valonia where she finished just 1/2 behind the runner-up Spintarix who has some top class form to her name.

The five-year-old paid the price for that effort and was put up to a mark of 100, but she is now able to race off 94 having run better than the final finishing position suggests in two runs this season in listed contests.

On the second of those at Haydock, Mu’ajiza finsihed a 4 3/4 lengths sixth of 12 to Blhadawa after being forced to race out wider than ideal.

She made good headway from the rear to throw down a challenge at the furlong marker, and it was an effort which suggested she was coming to the boil.

Mu’ajiza finsihed just a neck and a head behind the fourth home Lulu The Zulu, and now meets that rival on 4lb better terms but can be backed at  double the odds of Mick Appleby’s charge.

Another plus is that Midgley has his sprinters in terrific form, and Tom Qually is an interesting jockey booking as he has had just 5 rides for the yard in the past 12 months – winning one one occasion and finishing in the frame on two others.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Mu’ajiza (16/1 generally available – use BOG firms)
