Mud-loving Supreme Bob appeals at 12s

The mud-loving Supreme Bob is on a fair mark returned to hurdles in the 1.55 at Exeter today and makes plenty of each-way appeal at 12/1.

The gelding had some fair form to his name when placed in Ireland and broke his duck over the obstacles when winning on his first start for Lucy Jones at Newbury last March.

He idled when hitting thew front that day but found plenty when asked to beat Was My Valentine by 4/4 of a length on bottomless ground off a mark of 108.

The eight-year-old was then off the track for 243 days before shaping quite nicely when finishing fifth of 14 to Swinging Hawk at Warwick of 111 where he chased the leaders until weakening two from home as lack of race fitness took its toll.

Connections then pitched him into a novice handicap chase at Ludlow last time out but he  made several mistakes before finishing a well beaten 5th to Buywise.

He didn’t seem to take to the larger obstacles and it looks a wise decision to send him back over hurdles.

The son of Bob’s Return now gets into this off 109, and that is just 1lb higher than when last successful in today’s grade.

It gives him every chance at the weights on the pick of his form, and all his best runs has come on heavy ground so underfoot conditions will hold no fears.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Supreme Bob (12/1 Hills, Paddy Power – BOG)
