Mud-loving Forest des Aigles the Peter Marsh punt

Forest des Aigles is an ultra-progressive sort who relishes the mud and looks worth a punt at 11/1 in the Peter Marsh handicap Chase at Haydock today (3.15)

Lucinda Russell’s seven-year-old has won four of his eight starts over fences and comes into tgeh race on the back of a hat-trick of successes.

In the last of those he made light of a 7lb rise in the weights to make all and readily beat Wuff by six lengths on heavy ground at Bangor.

He only had to be ridden out after making a blunder at the last and was value for more than the winning margin in my book.

Forest des Aigles has been hit woth a further 8lb rise for that success but is clearly on a serious upward curve and looks a highly promising younbg staying chaser who should have even more to offer.

The key to him is soft ground and unlike many of his opponenets he will revel in the bottomless conditions.

Off just 10st 4lb, and in receipt of weight from all bar one of his rivals, he look to have plenty going for him for a stable that has been amongst the winners of late and does well with its staying chasers.

Dauly Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Forest des Aigles (11/1 generally available – use BOG firms)
