Muntadab is back down to a handy mark and makes plenty of appeal at 7/1 in the 4.10 at Haydock today.

Roger Fell’s gelding rounded off last season with victory in a 21-runner class 2 contest at Doncaster where he beat Get Knotted by a neck off a mark of 90.

He started this campaign with three cracking efforts, finishing runner-up in a 22-runner class 3 handicap at Docaster before chasing home Intisaab in a class 2 at Ripon and occupying the saem position in a similar grade affair at York when beaten a neck by Al Qahwa off 97.

Muntadab got put up to 100 after the latter and has struggled since.

However, that has resulted in the handicpper cutting him plenty of slack and he is now able to race in this class 3 contest off 92.

That makes him well-treated on the pick of his form and he shaped better than the bare result last time out at Thirsk when a not kncoked about ninth.

He also has proven form on soft ground and the step back up to 7f, over which he is two from seven, looks an interesting move.

Daily Sport recommended bet; 2pts each-way Muntadab (7/1 BetVictor, Coral, William Hill – BOG)
