Gouray Girl has slipped back to a winning mark and is of serious interest at 8/1 in the 4.55 at Newbury.
Walter Swinburn’s filly has shaped really well in her last two starts over 6f, and ran her best race for some time at Goodwood 11 days ago when beaten only 1 1/2 lengths into fifth behind Gentle Lord.
That run suggested to me that she was now ready to strike, and the handicapper has certainly been kind in dropping her another pound.
The daughter of Redback was last successful in this race last year off a mark of 89 and is now back down to 85 having started this season on a lofty 95.
That gives her an outstanding chance of a repeat victory in this 7f contest, and at 8/1 with Boylesports she looks cracking value and an each-way steal.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts each-way Gouray Girl (8/1 Boylesports – BOG)
