Fallon ready to unleash the Fury
Fury was a major disappointment when last seen in action but he has been given a break to freshen up and looks value at 7/1 to bounce back in the 4.10 at Newmarket.
William Haggas’ colt looked a very smart performer in the making when unbeaten as a two-year-old, and was impressive when quickening up well to beat a big field in a valuable sales race on the Rowley Mile at this course.in some style.
He was far from disgraced on his seasonal reappearance when a never nearer fifth of 13 to Frankel in the 2000 Guineas and then went on to be just touched off by Tazahum in a 1m listed contest at Sandown listed in May.
The son of Invincible Spirit looked sure to go on and win races judged on those performances, but he has since run well below par and been beaten a long way in two starts for which he started odds-on on both occasions.
Those runs were clearly too bad to be true, and something was obviously amiss as he has not been seen since finishing last of four to Chilworth Lad at Newbury back in July.
If connections have managed to find out what was holding him back then there is little doubt that if anywhere near back to his best he would take all the beating in this.
Backing him obviously comes with risks attached, but With the title chasing Kieren Fallon on board it looks a risk worth taking at the 7/1 on offer with Coral.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts win Fury (7/1 Coral)
9/2 Main Sequence of major interest
Main Sequence looks potentially thrown-in on his handicap debut in the finale at Newmarket (5.20) and is of major interest at 9/2.
David Lanigan’s colt was sent off at 50/1 for a 1m Yarmouth maiden, but belied his odds in style when quickening up stylishly to beat a useful looking field by 1 1/4 lengths.
He ran very green that day, and came from well off the pace and looks sure to come on a bundle for the run.
I was very taken by the performance, and think he has the potential to be a very smart performer and head and shoulders above today’s rivals.
His opening mark of 79 certainly looks lenient given the manner of his debut victory, and at 9/2 he looks cracking value to take this before going on to better things.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts win Main Sequence (9/2 generally available – BOG firms)
