NFL Preview: Giants can slay the 49ers

Having recommended the Giants to win the Superbowl three weeks ago at 25-1 they now just 7/2 after trouncing ante post favourites the Green Bay Packers at Labeau Field and tonight they look a good bet to continue their good form on the road against the 49ers.

New York Giants at San Francisco 49ers

The Giants now like the most complete team remaining in the Superbowl. Their defense has really got its act together and their  offensive play has also got better and better as the season progresses.

San Francisco, on the other hand, won the game of the week last weekend when the 49ers and the New Orleans Saints went touchdown crazy in the last quarter score a whopping 34 points between them.

All season I felt they would go far this year as they boast one of the best defenses in the league and a fairly decent offense with Frank Gore And Alex Smith Toeing the line.

The New Orleans Saints didn’t impress me on the road this year – regardless of what the boys in the Sky Sports studio were saying – and I feel the 49ers will need to raise there game to beat the Giants.

The bookmakers have priced this up as a “take you pick” contest due to the 49 ers home advantage but feel they will hold no fear for the road warriors that the Giants have become.

Daily Sport recommended bets:

5pts Giants to win – 5/4 Hills
3pts Giants total points over 20 – 10/11 Generally available
2pts 49 ers total points under 22.5 – 10/11 Generally available

Baltimore Ravens at New England Patriots

The steadily impressive Baltimore Ravens travel to the rampant New England Patriots in what should be the tie of the weekend and a classical defense v offense match.

Tom Brady and his offences looked sensational last week when they absolutely beasted the Teebow inspired Broncos 45-10.

I feel the Patroits have improved since earlier in the season, when I was unimpressed with the predictability of their offense with the Welker/Brady route being overused .However they now appear to be a lot more rounded with Tes Groncowski and Hernandez making the attack more complete.

To me the Ravens seemed to be more impressive in the way they beat the sturdy Houston Texans and seem to be the team who are quietly going about their business.

The critics will say Joe Flacco isn’t a Superbowl winning quaterback, but on his day I believe he is a one of the best in the game.

The Ravens are also an excellent defensive team who have enough about them to keep this game tight. As we are sitting pretty with a 25-1 voucher about the New York Giants I think it’s also worth having a small play on the Ravens to cause a shock and boost our ante post portfolio.
