Oaks Preview (Epsom 4.05) Vow for Victory

Vow is a filly that has really impressed me this season and at 5/1 she looks decent value in a wide open affair.

William Haggas’s daughter of Motivator overcame greeness on her debut at Newbury in April to win easing down by a length after showing a good turn of foot and could not have been more impressive when following up in the Oaks Trial on the all-wetaher at Lingfield.

She travelled really well throught that contest and showed a terrific change of gear to put distance between her and her rivals to win very easily by 3 1/4 lengths despite drifting across the track up the home straight.

You could not fail to be impressed by the manner of her victory, and she looks sure to improve even further for the experience.

With Johnny Murtagh in the saddle, she looks sure to go well for connections who landed last year’s contest with Dancing Rain.

The biggest danger is undoubtedly The Fugue, who after an ey-ctaching run when fourth in the 1000 Guineas ran away with the Musidora at york.

John Gosden’s filly relished the step up in trip and travelled beautifully throughout before quickening to beat Twirl by 4 1/2 lengths and looks to have plenty more to offer.

Maybe, who finished just in front of The Fugue in the 1000 Guineas, looks the pick of Aidan O’Brien’s six runners but I am not convinced that she will stay.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts win Vow (5/1 generally available – use BOG firms)
