Okotoks was a big eye-catcher last time out and looks worth an each-way wager at 16/1 in the 6.05 at Punchestown today.
Tony Martin’s gelding had some smart form to his name in bumpers, when winning ince, and also ran well in a maiden hurdle at Leopardstown when an 8 1/2 length into third to Identity Thief at Leopardstown.
The seven-year-old gthen came good at the third time of asking over hurdles when scoring comfortably by 3 3/4 lengths at Cork.
He then finished a fair fourth in a Grade 2 at Navan before staying on late to be nearest at the finish and a 1 3/4 length fourth of 20 to That’s A Wrap at Leopardstown last time out
That in a race which has thrown-up plenty of subsequent winners, including Supasundae and Ice Cold Soul who have noth since landed competitive handicaps – with the former also have gone on to finish a fine second in a Grade 1 at Aingtree
Judged on that effort Okotoks appears looks to have a big race in him and on his third behind Identity Thief, who is now rated 157 over hurdles, a current mark of 127 looks exploitable.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Okotoks (16/1 bet365 – BOG), 1/4 odds 1,2,3,4,5)
