In perhaps the fight of the night, Ajose Olusegen finally ends his three year wait for a title shot when he faces off against division top dog Lucas Matthysse (1am BoxNation).
Olusegen has been ignored in this division for far too long and deserves massive credit for taking on Matthysse instead of waiting for the easier option in the shape Danny Garcia.
Matthysse is considered by many as the best in the division. He punches hard and often, and his only two losses were in controversial fashion to Zab Judah and Devon Alexander.
He comes to fight but is vulnerable in my opinion as he takes too many shots and will lose the second he faces a boxer with a good chin.
Matthysse doesn’t hit as hard as the experts would have you believe. He did’t stop Alexander or Judah, and his undefeated opponent recently signed with Lou Di Bella which appears to have revitalised what was a flagging and disinterested career back in the UK.
I believe the prices for this one are all wrong, as Olusegen has a real chance of doing a real number on Matthysse and at the odds on offer he has to be the bet.
