Oratorio’s Joy weighted to strike at Kempton

Oratorio’s Joy has been given a chance by the handicapper and with Adam Kirby in the saddle rates a solid bet at 9/2 to take advantage and land the spoils in the 2.20 at Kempton today.

Jamie Osborne’s filly has won twice and been placed five times on the polytrack surface from 13 runs, and the last of those successes came at Wolverhampton off a mark of 72.

She now gets into this off 2lb lower, and is on the same mark as when landing a 1m 2f contest of the turf at Leicester four starts back.

That gives her major claims at the weights, and she caught the eye last time out at Wolverhampton when fifth of 10 to the progressive Persona Grata on her first run back after a 136 day break.

After being held-up in the rear, Oratorio’s Joy made headway on the outside and was pushed wide two from home before being unable to find any extra and weakening approaching the last to be beaten 7 lengths.

However she was not knocked about by her young inexperienced rider and now gets the professional services of Kirby in the saddle who has a strike rate of 23.5% when teaming up with the yard in the past 12 months.

That run  should also have put Oratorio’s Joy spot on for this, and from a good draw in stall 2 she looks weighted to take all the beating and rates the best bet on the card.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts win Oratorio’s Joy (9/2 Boylesports, Coral, Stan James, William Hill – BOG)
