Painter Man a Huntingdon hottie

David Pipe’s Painter Man is potentially well handicapped in the opener at Huntingdon (12.30) and rates the outstanding bet on the card at 5/2.

The gelding looked badly in need of the run on his seasonal reappearance at Exeter last month, and was never put into the race at any stage.

He eventually finsihed a well beaten 8th of 13 to Lord Carew, but is sure to strip fitter this afternoon and his shrewd connections look to have found a weak race for him to get back on the winning trail.

The gelding is 4lb lower than when last successful over fences, and with Conor O’Farrell taking off another 3lb he is just 5lb higher than when scoring his only win over hurdesl at Wincanton back in 2009.

Significantly the money has come for him this morning, and the Pipe stable rarely leave the money behind when the cash ios down.

Everything suggests that a huge run is expected, and it will be disappointing if he fails to deliver.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 5pts win Painter Man (5/2 Boylesports – BOG)
