Passing Oceans a 12/1 punt on handicap debut at Taunton

Passing Oceans looks a fascinating contender on handicap debut in the 2.50 at Taunton today and worth a punt at 12/1.

This Neil Mulholland trained five-year-old has failed to trouble the judge in three starts over the obstacles but has shown enough to suggest that there is better to come now going down this route. In particular he caught the eye in the second of those at Bangor when keeping on to finish a never nearer 24 lengths fourth of 18 to The Some Dance Kid. The winner is unbeaten in two starts since and now rated 133 and the second and third have also gone on to taste success. Grey Diamond, who came 1/2 a length behind Passing Oceans in fifth also ran well next time up when a staying on fourth to subsequent Triumph Hurdle winner Pentland Hills whilst the eight home Arctic Road (95 rated) and 11th placed Tim Rocco (113) have both gone on to bag a brace of successes. That gives the form a strong look and suggests an opening mark of 103 for Passing Oceans is exploitable and he is the least exposed in the line-up and open to progression.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts each-way Passing Oceans (12/1 general – use BOG firms)
