Peggies Venture ran well when runner-up last time out and looks decent value at 11/1 to go one better and land the spoils in the 4.10 at Worcester today.

Alan King’s mare was a useful bumper performer – finished a neck second in a Listed contest at Huntingdon – and posted string of solid efforts to make the frame over hurdles before opening her account over the obstacles with and easy 5 length success over course and distance back in May off an official rating of 114.

She then underwent wind surgery and shaped as if needing the run back here in August when fading late on to finish a 5 1/4 length fourth of 10 to Really Super.

Peggies Venture duly came on for that outing when chasing home the same rival over course and distance last month, sticking to the task well to go down by 2 lengths off level weights to a rival now rated 122.

That makes a 3lb rise in the weights for Peggies Venture look fair and a revised rating of 117 should not be beyond her.

She looks the type that should have mote to offer this season and her proven form at the track is another plus.

King also boaats a terrific strike rate of 41 per cent with his runners at the venue in the past 12 months, so Peggies Venture looks to have plenty going for her at the odds on offer.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts win Peggies Venture (11/1 Betfair, Paddy Power – BOG)
