I thought Plunger shaped really well last time out, so at 10/1 he makes plenty of appeal in the 7.35 at Newcastle today.
That run canme at Lingfield where the Paul Cole trained four-year-old finished a length fourth of 11 to Bobby Biscuit.
Plunger was drawnm widest of all and after being quickly away was asked to do plenty early doors to chase the leader.
It was therefore to his credit that he held every chance inside the final furlong util weakening close home.
Plunger is abel to race in this off an unchanged rating of 75 – 2lb lower than when last successful in a Deauville claimer back in August – so looks on a handy mark having previously been successful off 82 and rated as high as 86.
He also now makes his Tapeta debut and his four runs on other articial surfaces have resulted in two wins and a place.
Plunger is also a rare runner at the venue for Cole and this is just his second start in class 5 company.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Plunger (10/1 bet365 – BOG)
