Potters Hoping For Glory Over Liverpool

Stoke City have played Liverpool three times since they won promotion to the premier League and have yet to order from the losers menu.

Last year they won 2-0 at the Britannia and this followed draws in the previous two seasons. Tony Pulis and his side have made another satisfactory start to the season with a win and two draws from their opening three games. Whilst the win was away to West Brom perhaps the point gained from the zip all draw with Chelsea on the opening day was the best indication of what they might achieve this season.

The Britannia has become something of a fortress for the Potters. In 2010/11 they gained 34 of their 46 points on home soil and the fact that they signed Crouch and Palacios as the window was closing was a demonstration of how ambitious the club are in terms of building on last years success.

The Liverpool revival, under charismatic boss Kenny Dalglish, has been driven by Luis Suarez and they are also unbeaten this season. With wins against Arsenal and Bolton and a draw against Sunderland on the opening day. It won’t be to long until Gerrard makes a return to the squad but they will miss Adams who is unlikely to play on Saturday.

Liverpool are the jollies at about the 5/4 mark and we don’t think there is any value here. Stoke at 5/2 is attractive but the draw is the in bet option at 23/10 with bet365 and Skybet.
