Alexander Povetkin 23-0, 16 KO’s says he is ready to retain his WBA World Haevyweight title on Saturday when he meets former WBO World Cruiserweight champ Marco Huck 34-1, 25 KO’s in Stuttgart.
Huck a former kickboxer and seasoned pro is looking to become a 2 weight world champion. Huck said. “I would not have taken the fight if I didn´t believe in myself. Povetkin is good, but I can beat him. We once did sparring together and he has bad memories of me. On Saturday I will be the new champ. He is going down!”
While Povetkin remaind calm saying”His training had gone well and he was looking forward to retaining his crown on Saturday night.” Both fighters are certainly looking to inpress with Povetkin making his second defence of the title and keen to progress to a unification somewhere down the line.
Promoter Kalle Sauerland said the clash will be a real treat for fans. “This is what the heavyweight division needs,” he stated. “It will be very exciting. Both are fast, aggressive, strong and full of confidence. And both do not always have the best defence. It´s going to be spectacular.”
Cheif support on the bill will be German Middleweight Dominik Britsch 26-0, 9 KO’s who takes on Roberto Santos from Spain 17-6-1, 9 KO’s for the vacany EBU-EU Title.
Daily Sport says – We believe Povetkin will retain his crown more than likely on points and will be too big for the former Cruiser.
