Princess worth a punt at 8s

Ambrose Princess looks nicely weighted after a promising run on the flat  and makes plenty of appeal at 8/1 in the handicap hurdle at Ayr (5.05).

The mare put up a game attempt to make all when going down by 2 1/4 lengths to Cloudy Spirit over 2m 2f at Pontefract on her first run for 248 days, and that should have put her spot on for this.

Michael Scudamore’s charge has won three times over hurdles, with her last win coming off a mark of 112 at Uttoxeter back in May 2010.

She was subsequently placed off 120 and now retuns to action over the sticks on what looks a very workable mark of 116.

The seven-year-old is a real tough nit to crack when on-song and allowed to bowl along at the head of affairs, and in Campbell Gillies she has the ideal partner to adopt those tactics this afternoon.

The young rider is one of the best in the business as far as I am concerned, and I can see him getting a great tune out of the selection.

To me she looks sure to take all the beating, and at the odds on offer looks a rock solid each-way punt for a stable who have hit form.

Daily Sport recommended: 2pts each-way Ambrose Princess (8/1 generally available – use BOG firms)
