Queen Moon looks worth a wager to open her account in the 4.55 at Southwell today.

Andrew Balding’s filly is yet to get her head in front in 10 starts but did go close on her penultimate outing at Chelsmford when going down by just 1/2 a length.

She also ran well last time out when a 3 1/2 length sixth of 14 to Ourath over 1m 3f when weakening close home and seeminglay having her stamina stretched.

The drop back to 1m looks sure to suit and her two previous tries over course and distance having seen her finish third and fourth off marks of 55 and 50.

She is now able to race off 47, just 1lb higher than when just touched off at Chelsmford, and gets the services of the in-form Oisin Murphy in the saddle for the first time since making her debut.

Queen Moon also hails from an in-form yard that has a 23% strike rate with it’s runners at the track in the past 12 months and has saddled six winners from its last 11 runners.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts win Queen Moon (5/1 generally available – use BOG firms)
