Quite By Chance has become dangerously well-treated and runs Wincanton well, so at 7/1 looks worth siding with in the 3.15 there today. This Colin Tizzard trained 10-year-old has won twice and been placed twice in five starts over course and distance.

He is on a long losing run having not scored since landing a Listed class 1 handicap at Ascot back in October 2017 off a mark of 135, but has posted some really solid efforts in defeat.

They include when a 2 1/4 length fourth of 16 to Frodon in the 2016 running of the Grade 3 Caspian Caviar Gold Cup at Cheltenham off 147 and when beaten just 1/2 a length by Pickamix in a class 2 at Newbury last July off 138. Quite By Chance also ran well two starts back here when a 13 1/4 length third of nine to the progressive Some Chaos off 130.

He is now able to race in this class 3 off just 126 – his lowest rating in over three years. It makes him a massive player at the weights on the pick of his form and Quite By Chance now gets the services of Harry Cobden in the saddle for just the third time having been ridden by a 10lb claimer in his last two outings.

Daily Sport recommended bet: Quite By Chance (7/1 generally available – use BOG firms)
