Rebecca Romero caught the eye on her recent comeback run and looks worth siding with at 7/1 in the 8.35 at Newmarket this evening now partnered by Ryan Moore.
Denis Coakley’s mare is a consistent sort who ran well on numrous occasions to be placed last year before gaining a deserved success over 5f at Salisbury where she beat Asian Trader by 1/2 a length off a mark of 75 in a class 4 contest.
She went on to finish a solid fourth in a class 3 handicap over today’s course and distance off 82 and also finished runner-up here in a class 4 contest off the same rating.
The daughter of Exceed and Excel then disappointed when last of 15 in a class 3 contest at Ascot before running well on her final start of 2013 to finish sixth of 13 to New Forest in a class 3 affair at Leicester off 82.
She now gets into this class 4 contest, the same grade as when last successful, off a mark of 79 and that gives her every chance at the weights on the pick of her form.
The seven-year-old also shaped far better than her finishing positioin suggests when 7th of 11 to Pal Of The Cat on her recent reapperance at Windsor, where she was given a very sympathetic ride and never put into the race at any stage.
That run looks sure to have blow away the cobwebs, and the booking of Moore suggests connections are expecting a big run.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts each-way Rebecca Romero (7/1 Betfred, Hills, Paddy Power – BOG)
