Red Devil Star weighted to shine

Red Devil Star looks on a handy mark at present and worth a wager at 6/1 in the 1.35 at Fontwell today.

Suzy Smith’s five-year-old has made the frame in three of his four completed starts over hurdles, and shaped really well on seasonal reappearance two starts back when beaten just over 7 lengths into third behind Bigmartre at Fontwell.

The winner is a useful sort rated 133, and the runner-up Board of Trade is rated 132.

Red Devil Star also finsihed 20 lengths in front of the fifth home
General Ginger who has since gone on to chase home the  smart Modus at Taunton and is now rated 131.

That is strong form and suggests that Red Devil Star is potentially well-treated off a mark of 117.

Rewd Devil Star has also been running well of late, and had some useful form to his name last year on decent ground and will appreciate the better underfoot conditions he now encounters.
