Red Devil Star weighted to shine

Red Devil Star looks on a handy mark at present and worth a wager at 6/1 in the  1.25 at Huntingdon today.

Suzy Smith’s five-year-old has made the frame in three of his four completed starts over hurdles, and shaped really well on seasonal reappearance two starts back when beaten just over 7 lengths into third behind Bigmartre at Fontwell.

The winner is a useful sort rated 133, and the runner-up Borad of Trade is rated 132.

Red Devil Star also finsihed 20 lengths in front of the fifth home
General Ginger who has since gone on to chase home the very smart Modus at Taunton and is now rated 128.

That is strong form and suggests that Red Devil Star is potentially well-treated off a mark of 125.

He was also in the process of running a big race last time out on handicap debut at Sandown off 1lb lower when narrowly headed and falling two from home having travelled ominously well for much of the contest, and this sharper track should suit judged on that effort.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts win Red Devil Star (6/1 BetVictor, Stan James – BOG)
