Red Stripes an each-way play at 14/1

Red Stripes has dropped a long way in the weights and looks worth an each-way wager at 14/1 in the 4.20 at Wolverhampton today now refitted with the visor.

The gelding was last successful on the all-weather at Chelmsford back in December 2015 when trained by Brian Meehan and scoring by 1/2 a length off a mark of 81 in the hands of 7lb claimer Jordan Uys.

He got put up to 87 for that victory and failed to trouble the judge in his first six starts after moving to Lisa Williamson.

However, he ran a blinder from 3lb out of the weights last July at Goowood over 5f when a 3 1/4 length eighth of 16 to Boom The Groom in class 2 contest off 86 and also ran well to make the frame twice in November when runner-up at Chelmsford and third at the venue off a mark of 70.

Red Stripes also didn’t shaped too badly last time otu when fifth at Southwell and having been dropped another 1lb is now able to race of 67.

That makse him too well-treated to ignore in this weak class 5 affair, especially if the refitting of the visor has the desired effect.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Red Stripes (14/1 Paddy Power – BOG)
