Not Rigg a 10/1 nugget

Not Rigg makes his debut for trainer Nick Littmoden in the 4.20 at Yarmouth today and looks overpriced at 10/1 having fallen to a dangerous mark.

The gelding opened his account over a mile at Nottingham on fast ground last summer when trained by Gary Harrison, making virtually all and holding on gamely to beat The Scuttler by a neck off a mark of 70 in a class 5 contest.

Since then he has managed to make the frame just once in nine subsequent starts, but his handicap mark has plummetted as a result and he now gets into this class 6 affair off a career-low of 59.

That gives him major claims at the weights, especially with Jordan Vaughan in the saddle taking another 7lb off his back.

It’s also inetresting that his new handler has saddled two winners and a runner-up from his last three runners, and they were all former Gary Harrison trained and had fallen in the weights.

With the ground ideal, and off an 11lb lower mark when last successful in a higher grade, Not Rigg looks to have plenty in his favour and looks well worth an each-way  wager at the odds on offer.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Not Rigg (10/1 Paddy Power – BOG)
