Right ready to roll at Epsom

Right Step looks overpriced at 12/1 in the 3.55 at Epsom today and rates solid each-way value.

Alan Jarvis’ charge was better than ever last season and ran some cracking races in decent handicaps without getting his head in front.

The five-year-old was beaten just 1 1/4 lengths by Pekan Star in an ultra competitive affair at York off 94 and followed that up with second to Resurge over today’s course and distance off 97.

He was beaten just over a length that day and is expected to turn the tables on that rival on 3lb better terms.

The gelding went on to run another solid race when fourth of 14 to Beachfire in a listed handicap off 100, and although his form then tailed off he is back down to a mark of just 90 as a result.

That gives him a great chance of getting back into the winners’ enclosure – especially as he comes into the race with fitness guaranteed after a couple of spins over hurdles.

I had him priced up at no bigger than 8s for this, so at the 12s on offer he is simply too big a price to ignore and has to be each-way value for a horse with everything seemingly in his favour.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Right Step (12/1 generally available – use BOG firms)
