Rio 7/4 for England squad recall

Rio Ferdinand is 7/4 with William Hill to win a recall into the England squad next after John Terry’s decision to retire from international football.

Ferdinand was controversially left out of  England’s Euro 2012 squad by Roy Hodgson, but the Man United defender remains available for selection.

Terry’s absence will leave Hodgson lacking his most experienced defender for World Cup qualifiers against San Marino and Poland but Hill’s feel he’s unlikely to turn to Ferdinand to lead the back-line and go 2/5 that Ferdinand is not included in the squad and 7/4 that he is.

Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly said: “Rio missed the Euros in the summer for footballing reasons, but could be in line for a sensational return to the England fold with England now one centre-back light.”
