Royal Ascot: Cape Cova the Duke Of Edinburgh bet

Cape Cova shaped well last time out looks decent each-way value in Duke Of Edinburgh Stakes at Royal Ascot now dropped back in trip (5.35).

John Gosden’s gelding progressed troughout last season when winning four-times and also ran a blinder when a close third the the November Handciap at Doncaster.

He has had just two starts this season and shaped as if coing to the boil lst time out at York when third of 14 to Jaameh over 1m 6f.

The four-year-old led going well two from home until weakening late on to be beaten just 1 1/2 lengths.

The drop back to 1m 4f, over which he has a 50 per cent strike rate having won twice and been placed twice in four starts, is sure to suit and he also now gets fitted with the visor for the first time.

If that has the desired effect Cape Cova looks a big player in this and he also goes particularly well for Tom Queally who has a 43% strike rate on him.

Daily Sport recommended bet – posted on twitter 5.45pm 22/5/17: 2pts each-way Cape Cova (18/1 BetVictor, Paddy Power, Sky Bet – BOG)
