Southampton have made a terrific start to the season look overpriced at 21/10 with Betfred and BetVictor to win their home game against Mancester City today (1.30pm KO, Live on Sky Sports 1).
Ronald Koeman’s side have a superb home record, and have won six and lost none of their last eight Premier League games at St Mary’s – conceding just two goals in the process.
They have won six and drawn once in their last seven games in all competitions and currently sit in second place in the table behind Chelsea/
That puts them two points and one place ahead of today’s rivals and they have become a very tough side to beat and know what it required to grind out results in games like this.
They also face a City side that have failed to impress so far this season and were lucky to get a 2-2 draw away at QPR and then struggled to beat Swansea 2-1 at home in their last two games in the league.
The Citizens have also won just three of tehir last 8 matches, and come into the game on the back off a tough game in midweek when beating Bayern Munich 3-2 in the Champions League.
I think Southampton’s fresher legs and home advantage can see them come out on top in what promises to be a fascinating contest.
