Satanic the one to Beat

Satanic Beat looks good value at 13/2 to bounce back and land the 4.15 at Pontefract this afternoon.

Jed O’Keefe’s charge has been in good form this season, winning twice including over course and distance.

He made all and ran on strongly that day to slam Deepsand by 4 lengths, and after a decent second at Ayr went on to land a decent contest at Ripon by a neck from Dubai Dynamo off a mark of 82.

The runner-up went on to score by 5 lengths next time up, and the third home Al Muheer just got touched off in the competitive Thirsk Summer Cup.

That gives the form a solid look, and although the selection was well beaten at Haydock last week off today’s mark of 87 he was ridden far too aggressively and is definitely worth another chance.

The son of Dark Angel seemed to be thriving prior to Haydock, and I don’t think his current mark is beyond him.

He proved when beating Deepsand that he handles a quick surface and the track, and Tom Eaves – who steered him to victory that day – is now back in the saddle.

Everything looks in place for a big run, and providing he is ridden sensibly he is likely to be an extremely tough nut to crack.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts win Satanic Beat (13/2 BetVictor – BOG)
