Next Sensation has slipped back down to a handy mark and looks worth a wager at 12/1 in the 1.15 at Cheltenham today now dropped back in trip.
Michael Scudamore’s gelding enjoyed his finest hour over course and distance back in March wne staying on strongly to beat Eastlake by 4 lengths in the Grand Annual at the Festival off a mark of 143.
He now meets the winner on just 2lb worse terms, and having been put up to 151 after that victory is now back down to 145.
That makes him well-treeated on the pick of his form, and although Next Sensation has failed to cut any ice in three starts this season the last two of those have been over an unsuitable trip of 2m 4f.
The drop back to 2m is a massive plus, and there is every chance that Next Semsation could get an uncontested lead in this line-up.
If that proves to be the case he could prove hard to peg back, and another plus is that he has winning form on soft ground.
