Silver Dixie can strike gold at Lingfield

Silver Dixie caught the eye last time out and rates a solid bet at 9/2 in the 3.10 at Lingfield today now dropped back to his ideal trip.

The gelding was a consistent sort earlier in the year when trained by Jeremy Noseda winning twice and finishing placed in some decent handicaps.

The first of his successes came over course and distance where he readily beat Pencombe by 1 1/2 lengths off an opening mark of 67 despite running green.

He then went on to dot up by 3 lengths in a 1m 2f handicap on the turf at Newamrket off 71 before finishing an excellent third of 13 to Retirement Plan in a competitive class 3 affair at Goodwood off 75.

The three-year-old then got beat just a head by the progressive Morpheus at Newmarket off 77 before finishing a highly creditable third of 12 to Rainbow Beauty off 80 at Sandown.

He was then not seen at his best on his final start for Noseda when finishing 14th of 25 in the class 2 Silver Cambridgeshire when sent off the 10/1 joint second favourite, but shaped really well last time out at Kempton on his first start for the Paul Hedger yard when finishing a not kncoked about sixth of 13 to Presburg.

Although beaten 4 lengths in that 1m 4f contest, he took a keen hold and had every chance two from home until weakening approaching tha last and the drop back to 1m 2f today will suit him down to the ground.

He has won two of his three starts over the trip – including at this track – and another plus is that his handler boats a healthy strike rate of 21% with his runners at the track over the last 12 months which has produced a £43 profit to a £1 level stake.

His mark of 80 also looks more tha exploitable in this class 4 contest  judged on the pick of his form, and with Graham Lee in the saddle he looks the one they all have to beat.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts win Silver Dixie (9/2 BetVictor – BOG)
