Slim Chance returned to form last time out and can take advantage of a drop in the weights to score an overdue success in the 2.50 at Beverley today.

Sheena West’s charge is on a long losing run having not scored since landing back-to-back class 6 contests at Hamilton in September 2014.

The last of those successes came off a mark of 71, and Slim Chance ran well to finish third at Carlisle 12 months ago off 73 in a class 4 affair.

The mare is now able to race off just 59, a massive 12lb lower than when last victorious, and comes into the contest having shaped as if returning to form when third over course and distance.

Slim Chance should plenty of early dash to lead and only weakend late on to be beaten a length.

It was a huge step back the the right direction and if building on it this weak class 6 contest looks an excellent opportunity for her to get back on the scoreesheet.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts win Slim Chance (5/2 generally available – use BOG firms)
