Sohraab ready to strike

Sohraab has been shaping as if his turn is near and looks good value at  13/2 to open his seasonal account in the 7.10 at Epsom.

Hughie Morrison’s gelding has been a grand servant over the years, and caught the eye when a never nearer 12th of 20 in the Epsom dash before finishing a solid third to Judge ‘N Jury at York last time out.

He stayed on really well without never quite threatening to get up to be beaten just 3/4 of a length and the winner has franked the form by going on to finish a cracking second to Definightly in a Group 3 contest at the Curragh.

The eight-year-old has been put up 3lb for that effort to a mark of 90, but he has won off higher in the past and was a solid third to Your Gifted off it here last August over 5f.

Although most of his wins have come over the minimum, this sharp 6f should be right up his street and he has a good draw in stall 11 from where he should be able to drop in and get a nice tow into the contest.

Given his come from behind run style he will obviously need the splits to come at the right time, but if they do then he looks the one they all have to beat.

I had him priced up at around the 5/1 mark for this, so at 13/2 with Coral he looks overpriced.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts win Sohraab (13/2 Coral)
