Today at London’s swanky Landmark Hotel in Marylebone Frank Warren announced his next show for the 9th of December at London’s Excel and the join top billing are old adversaries European an d WBO Intercontinental Champ James DeGale and British and Commonwealth Champ George Groves both are yet to have opponents announced plus chief support will be new Southern Area Middleweight Champ Billy Joe Saunders. More fights to be announced so watch this space.
DeGale said”Groves need me after a close fight last time which many people thought I won” to which Groves replied”The only people who though you won were your Mum, Dad and Jim (DeGales trainer Jim McDonnell). Frank Warren said”These are 2 of the best Super-Middles in Europe and when they meet again it will be one of the biggest fights the UK has seen”
In a exclusive interview with Daily Sport George Groves said”I’m feeling great after my win last week, the support was great and I’ve still got plenty left in the tank” George told Daily Sport prior to last Saturday’s destruction of Paul Smith Jnr that he wanted to fight again before the end of the year, well George has got his wish. George added”I can’t wait for Excel on the 9th after tweeting yesterday that I would be fighting in again in December I got 200 messages of support”
