Next months WBO Super-Middleweight Title fight between holder Robert Stieglitz and Mikkle Kessler is off after Kessler hasn’t regained the necessary fitness following last years hand surgery.
Kessler’s next fight has now been penciled in for the 19th May in Copenhagen against a yet to be named opponent.
Kessler said. “As a boxer, my fists are my biggest weapon. To fight and to win
at the highest level, I need my hand to be fully recovered.
Unfortunately, the April 14 date comes just a little too early but I
will be ready on May 19. I have kept my shape and can´t wait to be
fighting again in front of my Danish fans.”
Daily Sport says – There are now unconfirmed rumours on the internet suggesting Stieglitz may now fight Britain’s George Groves which would be a great fight and we give Groves the edge in that one.
