Storm Melody makes plenty of appeal at 8/1

Storm Melody is on a handy mark at present and looks worth a punt at 8/1 in the  8.00 at Kempton today now dropped back in trip. This Ali Stronge trained six-year-old was last successful four starts back over 7f at Lingfield when scoring by a nose off a rating of 62. He backed that up with a solid third over the same trip here off 63 and also ran well last time out at this venue when third of 11 to Elusif – again over 7f – off 62. Storm Melody is able to race off an unchanged mark of 62, the same as when last successful, and the drop back in trip may well suit as his previous two wins had come over it off ratings of 69 and 67. The gelding also has a 33 per cent strike rate in the grade having won twice and been placed twice in six runs in class 6 company and has the services of the in-form Tom Marquand in the saddle. From a good draw in stall 2 he should also be able to tuck in and get a nice tow into the race before hopefully being produced with a late telling challenge.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Storm Melody (8/1 Betfair, Betfred, Paddy Power – BOG
