Street Entertainer can strike for Pipe

Street Entertainer posted a really solid effort last time out and looks decent value at 11/2 in the 1.40 at Cheltenham today.

David Pipe’s gelding has refound his confidence this year and been well placed to win three times.

Although two of this wins have come in sellers, the seven-year-old showed that he was still a force to be reckoned with in handicaps when a cracking fourth of 20 to Unique De Cotte in a very competitive class 3 contest over 2m 5 at this venue last month off a mark of 125.

Street Entertainer raced keenly and took the running up at the third and after making a mistake four out was not able to find any extra in the final 100 yards to be beaten 3 3/4 lengths.

The runner-up Dark Spirit, who was receiving weight from the selection, has since gone on to bolt up by 11 lengths at Ascot next time up to earn an official rating of 130 and the eighth home Daveron landed a gamble in good style at Taunton yesterday to gove the form a boost.

It makes Street Entertainer look failry trated off just 1lb higher (127) in what looks a weaker class 3 affair and he has been rated as high as 138 in the past.

The drop back to 2m 1f should also been in his favour, and with Michael Heard in the saddle – who rode him to good effect last time out – taking another 7lb off his back everything looks in place for a huge run.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts win Street Entertaainer (11/2 bet365, BetVictor – BOG)
