Strong Man has run all his best races on the all-weather and is of serious interest at 6/1 now returned to it in the 7.20 at Wolverhampton.
Mick Eastery’s charge did us a favour when opening his account over course and distance back in July where he kept on strongl;y to beat July Days by a neck off a mark of 55.
He was value for far more than the winning margin as he missed the break and had to overcome traffic problems to come with a winning run on the unfavoured inside rail.
The gelding flopped next time up but went on to run a couple of decent races on the turf over 6f before finishing an excellent second over that trip here when chasing home Pre Tax Profit off a rating of 60.
He then didn’t seem to take to the fibresand surface at Southwell when finishing 6th of 12 to Waking Warrior over 6f, and found the heavy going all against him when 7th of 19 to Fama Mac at Redcar last time out – again over 6f.
What is interesting is that his shrewd connections are now upping him back up in trip to 7f – the distance over which he registered his success – and back to the all-weather surface off what looks a workable mark of 63.
His sire Gentleman’s Deal was a prolific winner on the all-weather and his progeny also seem to reserve their best for it.
Strong Man is no exception, and he looks good value to maintain his unbeaten record over course and distance.
