Stubytuesday is on a workable mark at present and looks worth an each-way punt at 20/1 in the 4.15 at Carlisle today now dropped significantly in trip.
The Mick Easterby trained four-year-old scored twice last season, opening his account on handicap debut over 6f at Redcar off a mark of 58 before going on to readily land a 7f contest on soft ground at Catterick off 63.
He went on to finish a solid two length fourth of 12 to Hitman in a class 5 at Redcar off 67 and also ran well on seasonal reappearnce when a 1 3/4 length fourth of 17 to Lamloom in a class 4 contest at Nottingham over an extended mile off the same rating when weakening late on.
Stubytuesday has since failed to trouble the judge and been well beaten in three starts over 1m (twice) and 1m 2f last time out, weakening in each late on.
The drop back down to an etxnded 5f over a stiff track like this on testing ground is interesting and could well see him in a better light.
Off a mark of 65 he looks weighted to run a big race on the pick of his form and Nathan Evans is now back in the saddle having won once and been placed once on him in five starts.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Stubytuesday (20/1 William Hill – BOG)
