Sturridge can fire Reds to victory over Oldham

Liverpool are long odds-on at 2/7 to beat Oldham in their FA Cup fourth round tie at Boundary Park today (4pm KO, Live on ITV1) and everything suggests a comfortable wide margin is on the cards.

Oldham are involved in a relegation battle in League 1 and their home form has been poor with just three wins from 14 games.

By stark contrast the Reds are enjoying a good run of form, winning four of their last five, and should have far too much class for their opponents.

The stats are also firmly in Liverpool’s favour as they have won all four previous matches against the Latics in this competition, with the last of those coming in the third round last year when they ran out easy 5-1 victors.

Brendan Rodgers’ men have also won five and lost just two of their last nine away games in the FA Cup, and everything suggests they will win this with a bit to spare.

Daniel Sturridge, who marked his debut for the club with a goal against Mansfield in the last round, looks a bit of value in the first goalscorer market at a standout 100/30 with bet365.

He can be backed at 8/11 generally the anytime scorer market and that looks more than fair.

Liverpool to win to nil also makes plenty of appeal at even money  with Paddy Power.
