Sun worth a Shot at 16/1 in Betfred Silver Bowl

Shot In The Sun caught a tartar last time out and makes plenty of appeal at 16/1 in the Betfred Silver Bowl at Haydock today (3.45).

Richard Fahey’s filly stayed on strongly to be finish a 1 1/2 length runner-up to That Is The Spirit in a 7f handicap at York on soft ground, and the winner is an exciting prospect who is now rated 99 and looks a pattern performer in the making.

Before that, Shot In The Sun had been beaten just a length in a mile contest at Ripon by another progressive sort in the shapemof Crystal Lake, where she didn’t get the clearest of runs before staying on well.

The daughter of Kodiac has been put up 4lb for her latest effort behind That Is The Spirit, but that form looks solid and she will appreciate the step up back to a mile.

She also has a good draw in stall 2, and her proven ability to handle cut in the ground is a major plus.

The three-year-old does face some unexposed types in this competitive class 2 contest, but is a tough sort who has solid form in the book and looks the type to expose any chinks in their armour.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Shot In The Sun (16/1 bet365 – BOG)
