Sunraider ready to shine

Sunraider bounced back to form when runner-up last time out and makes plenty of appeal at 7/1 in the 4.35 at Ponetfract today.

Paul Midgley’s gelding was last successful over course and distance 10 months ago when slamming Effervescent by 5 lengths off a mark of 78.

The handicapper whacked him up 11lb for that runaway victory, and Sunraider was far from disgraced off his revised mark of 89 when seventh of 11 to Out Do in a competitive class 2 contest over course and distance on seasonal reappearance.

He then failed to trouble the judge in his next four starts, but his mark fell as a result and he signalled that his time was near last time out when beaten 1 3/4 lengths by Nameitwhatyoulike – again over CD.

Although now 1lb higher in the weights, the eight-year-old remains nicely treated off a mark of 82 if building on that effort.

Anonther plus is that Sunraider has bagged a good draw in stall 3, and with Tom Queally in the saddle everything points to a big run.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Sunraider (7/1 generally available – use BOG firms)
