Swansea City versus Sunderland (3pm KO) isn’t the day’s most exciting game in propsect by a a country mile and looks destined to end in a bore draw.
The Swans got tonked 4-0 on the opening day of the season by Man City, and will have been grateful to have bagged their first point in the top flight at Wigan last weekend.
They alreday look destined for the drop, and it’s vital that they get as many points out of their home games as possible to give them any remote chance of survival.
On paper, Sunderland are probably the ideal opponents for them at this stage of the season, as Steve Bruce’s men are finding goals hard to comeby and got knocked out of the Carling Cup by Brighton in mid week despite fielding a near full strength side.
However it’s hard not to forget how well they played on the opening day when drawing 1-1 with Liverpool at Anfield, and they should be good enough to share the spoils this afternoon.
At a general price of 23/10 the draw looks worth a punt.
